As the department celebrates its tenth anniversary, approximately 450 students have completed their studies and are now employed in diverse fields.
In 2022, the Department of Computer Science introduced a 3-year B.Voc mobile application development course, currently in its second year, with around 50 students enrolled. This course, being the latest addition, presents ample job opportunities for students. The curriculum includes learning various programming languages for Android and iOS, such as Flutter, React, Angular, MongoDB, and SWIS. Additionally, students are well-prepared through various programs like internships, industrial visits, mini projects, and main projects for both courses.
Amal College of Advanced Studies was started in 2005 by The Nilambur Muslim Orphanage Committee. The idea for the college came from Sri PV Abdul Wahab, who was the Chairman of the Committee at that time. He is considered the person who started the college. The college began with three programs and is recognized by the UGC Act, 1956. It is also a Minority Educational Institution, as per the National Commission for Minority Educational Institution Act, 2004. It is the only college in the country that reserves 20% of seats in all courses for Muslim orphans. The college has been providing education to young people in and around Nilambur and is working on projects for its growth.
The college is situated in Santhigramam, a beautiful campus with 25 acres of land, along the Chaliyar River in Myladi, Nilambur. This area is known for tribal settlements and teak plantations.
